Growing up among the Rocky
Mountains, Trevor spent much of his youth
on the slopes of the now extinct Fortress
Mountain. With ski instructors for parents,
and an older brother already involved in
the sport, he had all the ingredients of
success. By the age of 3 he had quickly
recognized his family's passion for the
sport and began to appreciate what
the sport had to offer. At age 5 he was
introduced to "Racing" through the Nancy
Greene Program where he developed technically
as a young skier. Soon, it was off to Juvenile.
Although strong technically, Trevor lacked
size and confidence and therefore
encountered difficulty succeeding.
After joining the National Alpine Training Center Ski Team, he filled what voids he had and began too see desired accomplishments, some of which involved the podium at the Canadian Juvenile Championships. His first few years of FIS proved to be great learning experiences, where he truly chose his path as an athlete, and began to strive for excellence. In the 2001- 2002 season he qualified for his first of what would be 2 years on the Alberta Ski Team. In completing that 2nd year he qualified for a Canadian Ski Team Development Group where, although named to the Alberta Ski Team, he spent the year training and competing with the Canadian Men's Junior Team. This opportunity proved to be very successful as his 2003- 2004 season was full of success, including an unfortunate mishap at the World Junior Championships during a near podium performance.
Going into his 9th season as a member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team, Trevor has spent his last 4 years competing on the World Cup circuit. He was also named to the 2010 Canadian Olympic team and competed in Vancouver. Plagued by knee injures, including 3 surgeries, Trevor hopes to remain healthy and endure a successful career on the World Cup tour, and has his sites on a medal in the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.
