Following 3 weeks of a combination of off snow training and down time at home, the athletes met in Hintertux, Austria for 2 weeks of skiing. After being snowed in for 2 straight days, the team decided to head to Tignes, France, where the weather was consistent and the skiing was good. " We got halfway up the first gondola and the coaches radioed down. We were told to go around, pack, and that we were driving 10 hours to France. This is a huge part of the sport, living out of a suitcase and having to move frequently. Our program is always changing."

Queenstown, New Zealand
On Snow Summer Camp
Trevor is in his 2nd of two trips to Queenstown, New Zealand for an on snow training camp. The team spent 3 weeks on snow, returned home for a small break, and now have 2 more weeks of training. "The skiing has been good, we have a big variety of runs and terrain to ski on, and we've been able to water the hill to get some training on ice." Trevor and team mate Pat Biggs managed to explore the eastern coast during their 2 days off, and catch some quality surf. "Its always nice to be able to take the time to see the country and take in some of the culture, to have something outside of the training. Were so focused all of the time, so its great to be able to take your mind of skiing and just enjoy yourself". Following the camp the boys will head home for 3 weeks, and then head to Hintertux, Austria, for 2 weeks of training.

Val D'isere, France
2009 World Championships
Trevor was 1 of 4 Canadians named to compete in the Slalom at the 2009 World Championships. Unfortunately he was also 1 of many skiers to not complete the tough piste. " The conditions were insanely tough. Its a steep, challenging hill that doesn't let up, and the snow was pretty much a skating rink. It was good to get a big event under my belt however, in preparation for the Olympics next year. I didn't have the right mental approach and now know what to improve on". The race did however prove successful for Canada, with Mike Janyk finishing 3rd. " Its awesome for Mike, he's had a long journey getting back on top due to injuries etc, and he's taken all the necessary steps. He deserves it." Trevor has one more World Cup of the season before returning to Canada to finish out the season.

Marbella, Spain
Vacation
Following a month tour in Europe, the guys were given a week off to rest and relax before another month stint on the World Cup tour. While some headed to Italy, and some went home, Trevor and teammate Pat Biggs took off to the south of Spain. They spent 5 days in Marbella, enjoying a few rounds of golf, some ocean air and much needed time off. " Being on the road for 6 months of the year bouncing from hotel to hotel, and always focusing on your sport and task at hand gets tough, both physically and mentally. Its nice to have a bit of a break to just be 24 and enjoy myself. Its nice to hit the reset button, and come back refreshed for another month on the tour."
