Im excited to now be in Whistler and to be part of this great experience. The support is incredible." Trevor will compete on Sat feb 27th in the Mens Slalom event.

Vancouver 2010
Trevor named to 2010 Olympic Team
Trevor was 1 of 19 alpine athletes named to represent Canada in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games that take place in 2 weeks in Whistler, BC. He will compete in Slalom, alongside team mates Mike Janyk, Julien Cousineau, and fellow Calgarian Brad Spence who he grew up skiing with. "Im very thrilled to be a part of the Olympic Squad heading to Vancouver. When the games were announced 4 years ago, I was in Calgary with torn ligaments in my knee. I can honestly say the thought of going to the games didn't seem like a reality. But like any young Canadian athlete, the thought of representing your country in the Olympics stays in the back of your mind. As results started to come, the games seemed more and more attainable. Ill admit with that came a lot of pressure, especially in the last few months. As qualifications neared, I spent more time processing numbers and points than I did focus on my skiing. In the last 2 weeks I decided that I would only focus on what I could control, and that was my skiing. They have plenty of people to calculate statistics. It paid off, and its this modo that I plan to carry into the games. I accept its a huge event, and I embrace being part of such an event. I won't lie, competing in the Olympics alone is a feat in itself, but my focus will be on my skiing and how to get down the hill as fast as possible. If that places me 10th, or on the top of the podium, I can walk away happy."

Kitzbuhel, Austria
14th place in Kitzbuhel World Cup
Trevor placed 14th in today's World Cup slalom event on the famed Kitzbuhel course in Austria. 25th after the first run, Trevor posted a solid second run to move him up to 14th in the final standings. It is his 2nd best career result, following an 8th place here last year in the same event. " I really enjoy this race, the hill, the location, the people. Anytime you get 30 000+ fans, its a great atmosphere to be a part of. This race has been good to me, it was my first ever World Cup start back in 2008, and my first career top 10 (2009). I just feel comfortable competing here, which allows me to relax and just focus on my skiing." Trevor now heads to Schladming for a night slalom, likely the most famous event of the year with over 50 000 fans lining the course and finish area.

Kirchberg, Austria
Trevor wins Europa Cup Slalom
A day after posting the 10th fastest time in the opening run of a the World Cup Slalom in Wengen, Switzerland, and failing to finish the second leg, Trevor won a Europa Cup slalom. In 2nd place after the first run, Trevor skied well enough to capture his first Europa Cup victory. The result couldn't have come at a better time as Trevor prepares for 3 more world cups before the Olympic games, including a World Cup in Kitzbuhel where he was 8th last season. "I had been struggling to find my top form lately, I was simply focusing on results and points etc and completely disregarding what I had to do to ski fast. I obviously would have loved to complete the second run in Wengen yesterday and see what result I could have accomplished, but mistakes happen when you take risks. Today was purely redemption, and I am very happy with this result."
Trevor will compete in 3 more World cups before returning home early February for some time off and preparation for the games.

Levi, Finland
Trevor 22nd in Opening World Cup
In a short jaunt to the arctic circle (on the other side of the world), Trevor and teammates flew to Levi, Finland to participate in the first Slalom World Cup of the season. The team would spend 2 and a half days traveling each way, for a total of 3 days on snow, one of which being the race. The team flew from Calgary to London, London to Oslo, Oslo to Alta, Norway, and then drove 5 hours south from Alta to Levi, Finland. " Its a long way to come for 1 race, but thats skiing. Our sport is weather and condition dependent, and this early in the season Finland has the ability to host a race."
Members of the Canadian Technical Team are sporting mustaches for their first World Cup of the season in Levi, Finland, and for the rest of the month of Moevember. The goal is to look as good as Tom Selleck, while raising funds and awareness for Prosate Cancer. Full article here:
Following 3 weeks of a combination of off snow training and down time at home, the athletes met in Hintertux, Austria for 2 weeks of skiing. After being snowed in for 2 straight days, the team decided to head to Tignes, France, where the weather was consistent and the skiing was good. " We got halfway up the first gondola and the coaches radioed down. We were told to go around, pack, and that we were driving 10 hours to France. This is a huge part of the sport, living out of a suitcase and having to move frequently. Our program is always changing."
